  • Competition Details
    It is finally here! Saturday January 25th, 2014 the Great Plain's Regional Competition will take place at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. All activities will take place in the Kansas Union (1301 Jayhawk Blvd. Lawrence, KS 66045). Below are details for anyone that plans to attend the competition. Good luck to everyone!

    General Schedule:

    7:30 – 8:30

    Model Check-in/


    Kansas Union – Ballroom Level 5

    8:40 – 9:00

    Opening Ceremonies

    Held in Woodruff, Level 5 of the Kansas Union

    9:20 – 12:10

    Preliminary Round

    Teams will present back-to-back in the same room to reduce the amount of model transportation

    10:30 – 1:00


    On your own. The Market in the Kansas Union will be open

    1:00 – 1:30

    Keynote Speaker

    Held in Woodruff, Level 5 of the Kansas Union

    1:30 – 2:45

    Final Round

    Held in Woodruff, Level 5 of the Kansas Union

    2:45 – 3:30

    Thanks to The University of Kansas, refreshments and breakfast pastries will be provided before the opening ceremony. Lunch will be on your own but the Market will be open during lunch.  $7 should comfortably get each person a meal.

    Directions and Parking:

    Direction to the Kansas Union (1301 Jayhawk Blvd. 66045 Lawrence, KS) and campus map can be found at the following link: Everyone is welcome to park in the Mississippi Street Parking garage however it is at your own expense. There is additional parking (free) behind Spencer Museum of Art with a tunnel under Mississippi Street that leads into the Kansas Union. Models can also be dropped off on either side of the Kansas Union however dropping off on the East side (Oread Ave.) will be easier and has no stairs.
